My goal is to get clamav-milter to scan the email on my server, but
I can't get clamav-milter to create a socket correctly.
I have looked at the clamav.conf files and don't see an error.
clamd.pid hasn't been created in /var/run/ as the configuration would
indicate.
The configuration does work correctly in some regards.
I have a cron job updating freshclam and my log file does appear in /tmp/
with new entries.
I am able to scan files using clamscan.

I am using Redhat 8.0 and did a pretty generic install of clamav.

my install looks like this:
In /usr/local/bin I have:
clamdscan clamscan freshclam and sigtool

When I try to run clamdscan, I get the error "Connect(): Connection Refused
Error: Can't connect to clamd.

clamd is located in /usr/local/sbin along with clamav-milter

All my source files are located in root's directory.
Any help with the configuration would be helpful.
I am particularly puzzled with the clamd errors. How can I tell if the
Daemon is running?
I don't see it with ps -aux
