I can't help you fully as I don't use exiscan. But:

does clamscan detect Mimail in the files after extracting them from
email messages, or not?
If not, does "clamav online specimen scanner"
( http://www.gietl.com/test-clamav/ ) detect infection in them?
If not, please submit sample at
http://clamav.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/sendvirus.cgi
