i would point out clamav.org as a good reason.  Although that technically
falls into your "only ones to be used" theory.

And that theory is extremely north american centric.  Not that that's
generally a "Bad Thing".

And if someone wants to contribute to clamav in this small and simple way
- what's the harm in that?  It's not like the writers went out and asked
us to do it.  We noticed an issue, and covered it out of the goodness of
our hearts.  Hey, isn't that what the internet (and ClamAV as well) all
about?
