Hi,

I'm running ClamAV 0.65 with qmail-scanner 1.20 and everything works as
it should, exept one minor annoyance: clamd reloads the databases twice.

Wed Nov 26 00:45:02 2003 -> Reading databases from /usr/local/share/clamav
Wed Nov 26 00:45:02 2003 -> Database correctly reloaded (10322 viruses)
Wed Nov 26 00:55:01 2003 -> SelfCheck: Database modification detected. Forcing reload.
Wed Nov 26 00:55:02 2003 -> Reading databases from /usr/local/share/clamav
Wed Nov 26 00:55:02 2003 -> Database correctly reloaded (10322 viruses)

The first reload is initiated by freshclam which runs as cronjob:

  45    */4    *     *     *     /usr/local/bin/freshclam -u qscand
--log=/var/log/clam-update.log --quiet --daemon-notify=/usr/local/etc/clamav.conf

The second reload is initiated by SelfCheck.

Is this a little bug or have I done too much?

Thanks for any help.

My condensed /usr/local/etc/clamav.conf reads:

LogFile /var/log/clamd.log
LogFileMaxSize 0
LogTime
LogSyslog
LocalSocket /tmp/clamd
FixStaleSocket
StreamSaveToDisk
StreamMaxLength 10M
MaxThreads 10
ThreadTimeout 500
User qscand
Foreground
ScanArchive
ArchiveMaxFileSize 10M
ArchiveMaxRecursion 5
ArchiveMaxFiles 1000
ClamukoScanOnOpen
ClamukoScanOnClose
ClamukoScanOnExec
ClamukoMaxFileSize 1M
ClamukoScanArchive

clamd is supervised as proposed within
http://clamav.sourceforge.net/doc/clamd_supervised/clamd-daemontools-guide.txt
