This is true, however I think Stefan has a useful idea, and he is certainly 
correct that ClamAV has the required characteristics to be able to recognise 
email attachments of particular types, even though they are not viruses, 
which things like SpamAssassin cannot pick up.

Stefan, I suggest perhaps a useful way to achieve what you want is to start a 
separate project (possibly, with Tomasz' approval, called ClamAS, or 
ClamSpam?) which simply builds up signatures of the spam attachments you want 
to detect, and then people who want to use these can install the signature 
file on their machine; those who don't want to use ClamAV for this purpose 
simply continue using plain ClamAV in the usual way.
