Today (Saturday) I finally finished a core code for the new database container
file (.cvd). It's a .tar.gz file with a special header that contains:
* version number (which protects against a potential downgrade)
* MD5
* RSA digital signature
* and more..
The code and few cvd test files will be released on Monday. After testing and
potential changes the database developers must be trained with the new format.
Then we can switch freshclam to download cvd files (there will be two such
files: main.cvd and daily.cvd) from database.clamav.net - that should be done
~October, 12. The final stable version must be released before the debian
freeze process.
