What do you have in /etc/sysconfig/clamav-milter? Does the entry in there match /etc/mail/sendmail.mc? Did you remember to rebuild sendmail.cf from the mc file? You shouldn't put temporary .sock files in /var/lib, that isn't the purpose of /var/lib.
