The one I posted was incorrect. I retrieved the file with 'lynx -dump <url>' and should have used 'lynx -source <url>'. I don't have your message anymore, but the correct md5 checksum for viruses.db2 is :
"6cd7a88e4af1d67d328b5829a723e0f6 viruses.db2"
That's probably what you posted. I don't know where clamav.elektrapro.com's one came from, but it just doesn't match that file.
Tomasz, you've been kind of quiet the past couple days. Any help?

You can calculate MD5 checksums yourself, on Linux systems anyway. The command is just 'md5sum <filename>'. The checksum I get for viruses.db2 is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# md5sum viruses.db2 55955463c72c1ef803ef05c8a3cc9aa2 viruses.db2
I don't know what good this does us, however. You could go into the source code and recompile freshclam to ignore the md5 checksum, but that is a REALLY bad idea.
Either the viruses.db2 file needs to be updated on the web site, or the md5 checksum does. Unfortunately we can't do either.

Hello ... running Suse linux 8.0, 8.1, 8.2 and clamav-0.54 , clamav-0.60
A week or so ago my updates with freshclam started failing with the error
ERROR: Can't connect to port 80 of host clamav.elektrapro.com ERROR: Connection with clamav.elektrapro.com failed.
It did this for a day or two and since then I've been getting the error.
ERROR: The checksum of viruses.db2 database isn't ok. Please check it yourself or try again.
I was running clamav-0.54 and since upgraded to clamav-0.60 but it has made no difference I've also deleted the virus defs and tried a fresh download, but no joy.
Can sombody clue me in, or is the checksum of viruses.db2 hosed? How do I check it myself?
