Hi, It's generally a good idea to use the newest version available. Here are the main goals for 0.60 (+ implemented, * partially implemented, - not implemented): clamd: - implement work-around for the buggy *BSD threads * scanning data on socket (remote client-server model) - auto reloading (check for new files and db timestamps) libclamav: * improved mbox handling (Nigel) + bzip2 support + better handling of malformed archives - better support (with disinfection) for OLE2 (MS Office) files [almost complete, not released yet though] - db management API extensions (implement code from Ron Wills) - fix zziplib problems on Mac OS X and NetBSD clamscan: - fix thread race condition on SMP (broken thread waiting code) sigtool: - be more intelligent ;) freshclam: - compression - mirrors Also there's a new and really effective milter based scanner by Nigel Horne. It contacts directly with clamd and scans all files with libclamav's internal mbox scanner (written by Nigel, too). Because everything is written in C, it should be really efficient. The test version (shell archive) is available at: http://clamav.elektrapro.com/support All suggestions and bug reports will be appreciated ! Best regards, Tomasz Kojm -- oo .....
