You should use AntiVir from www.HBEDV.com, it is known to work best
with sigtool. The large signatures are not proper (the virus scanner uses
regular expressions and in the most cases the full file is included into
the signature).

Clamscan (clamd) reads all .db files from /usr/local/share/clamav, so
you can create some local.db file (and it won't be overwritten by freshclam).
