Ok , this is my solution so far

$ /usr/bin/clamscan --stdout -r -I / >/downloads/clam.txt

It outputs to a file and I got cron to mail me the txt file. Btw , is
there a way to disable testing on the /proc directory?

Seems that I get some garbage when I scan the entire / and all the
/proc comes with some crap.

Cheers`

I think the infected file names goes out to the Stderr device, or Stdout
if
you use tye --stdout parameter.
