In MIMEDefang (http://www.mimedefang.org), we use clamd. However, we have a fallback mode whereby if the clamd program reports "zip module failure", we fall back to clamscan --unzip, just to be safe. We have regression tests that specifically try a deflate64-compressed Zip file, and 0.88 made that test fail. For our commercial customers, we're distributing a patched version of ClamAV that corrects this regression. So yes, in our case, the regression did reduce the functionality of the scanning server.
