There seems to be a problem with the version of ltmain.sh (really old
- 2001) being used and it's ability to generate a libtool capable of
generating proper shared libraries in Darwin 6.x or 7.x, Mac OSX
(before 10.4) and some versions of FreeBSD.
It's also affecting the build of the apps so I'm hoping that there is
the intentions/possibilities of updating this to something newer that
will generate a more compliant litool.
What I have done as a test is copied ltmain.sh from libxml2-2.6.17
and issued an autoreconf -i -f and other than it stating I should run
aclocal to update aclocal.m4, it make the correct changes and solves
the programming issue.
