Hello all,

Would it be possible to add AM_MAINTAINER_MODE to configure.in? Every
time a new upstream comes out, I have to patch acinclude.m4 to link
correctly for some odd arches (Debian has a patched libtool), and this
requires a rebuilding of all the auto* stuff. The problem I run across
is that subsequent rebuilds always try to also rebuild, because of
timestamp skew introduced by the patching, and sometimes this can cause
failures. AM_MAINTAINER_MODE fixes this for me. It also still allows
rebuilding manually by passing --enable-maintainer-mode to ./configure,
so it seems nothing is lost. If you like, I can send a patch.

Thanks,
