Networks Appliance's free icap server is not under GNU GPL licence,
neither has an antivirus module.
It is a good reference, it is small and easy to modify and add new
services in it, but it has limitations.

The current published c-icap server(c-icap-151104.tgz) uses cl_scanbuf
function to scan data in memory so it is not safe.
I worked hard last weeks and I am going to publish new version for
c-icap which corrects this problem and
add some new features maybe today or tomorrow. However someone can get
the latest sources from cvs.
Although I consider that it is in pre-alpha state, it looks stable.

Also look at:
http://icap-server.sourceforge.net for a python based icap server
implementation.
 http://www.poesia-filter.org/ an other icap implementation.
