I have good luck using “sudo cu -l /dev/tty.usbmodem<foo> -s 9600” from the 
terminal when connected to the “USB CONSOLE” port (bottom right). We’re using 
“StarTech.com <http://startech.com/>” adapters to go from USB-C/Thunderbolt to 
USB console. 
No drivers required.
