Howdy cisco-nspers,

As a side hustle, I consult for a NSP in Texas who's done a bang-up job keeping their network alive on old gear: 6504E/Sup720-3BXL, 6408/6516/6704 cards, and 7206VXRs. They're doing great stuff with MPLS TE, a little bit of MPLS L3, and some L2 transport. Nonetheless, they're working on some projects that either call for VPLS explicitly or they suspect their competitors are pitching it and they feel a need to have it. I have zero exposure to it, and it's risky for them to do much more bidding unless they know what their capex needs are, and for me to have a clue of what's involved from a conceptual configuration standpoint.

Anyone available to spend an hour or two with me by phone/Zoom/whatever and educate me on what it'd take to offer VPLS on that network, preferably with second-hand gear (nothing bleeding edge if at all possible)? Payment available in Paypal, pizza delivery, or whatever else seems reasonably negotiable.

Thanks!

Pete
