To add more to the comments against the new download management system, the download screens are totally inaccessible to users that require a screen reader. You can get as far as selecting the software to download, accepting the far to many terms and conditions and then once you select download now a java based page seems to open that is written in such a way that both JFW and Window-Eyes can't make out any usable controls.

All that aside, does anyone have a non Cisco pointer or back way in to Cisco's site that I can use to download the latest V5.X windows XP VPN client? Any pointers would be appreciated.

I haven't really looked at it from the point of accessibility, but that is definitely a good point and a valid concern.

My main argument against the download manager applet is that I hate dealing with several layers of dependency hell with Java. Does the download manager work with the Java plugin in my web browser when that plugin is based on different JRE versions? Also, there seems to be this movement by some vendors to replace simple processes (an HTTP or FTP download) with something bulkier, like a Java applet, presumably because it looks prettier. Putting my business hat on for a second, I don't understand the value proposition.

Echoing Scott's request, if there is an 'off the menu' way to still access software downloads the old way, I'm all for it.
