Almost same here. Ubuntu x86_64 10.10 (Intel/NVidia-based).
All seems to be working fine until I render a simple test project. At the 100% point Cinelerra crashes, leaving an incomplete output file (AVI, rendering both video and audio at 1280X720). Most of the time the resulting file has audio but no video.
