After I do my offline edit I want to process the images "By any means necessary" to get them to where I want them and some day if I get it right a film out. During this process whether it is avisynth, vdub, shake, apple color, resolve, x264. I want to avoid baking in adjustments at any of these steps and this is why i am looking at open exr at the moment. I want to avoid any clipping of my dynamic range or loss of what little color information i have from my shooting format.
