HI Herman, and thanks for the help. I'm sorry, I guess I misspoke She
crashes on start up when automatically loading. The Mp3 file is
corrupted and I don't know how to keep it from loading so it crashes. I
guess this is the problem assuming that Cinelerra itself is not
corrupted?? I can't start a new session so I can't use the saved files.
I have Cinecutie on the machine and have started working in it. So I am
getting something done. I posted here in the hope someone could tell me
how to keep from reinstalling Cinelerra. I am not knowledgeable enough
to know how to solve this problem.

...but when you just load the current version of your project, it doesn't crash?
And why are you trying to load the backup? does it contain significant work that
isn't present in the last saved version of your project file?

PS: for me it was always possible to resolve such problems without having
to reinstall anything. We just have to narrow down out what is causing
the crash...
