Hi,

I'm running Cinelerra 4.1 (from the Debian multimedia repository) and
am having trouble
loading the audio from a .mov file created on a Canon 5D MkII.

qtinfo shows the following:

Type: Quicktime
  1 audio tracks.
2 channels, 16 bits, sample rate 44100, length 2637180 samples,
compressor sowt.
    Sample format: 16 bit signed.
Channel setup: Front Left, Front Right
    Language: eng
    supported.
  1 video tracks.
    1920x1080, depth 24
    rate 30.000000 [3000:100] constant
    length 1794 frames
    compressor avc1.
    Native colormodel: YUV 4:2:0 planar
    Interlace mode: None (Progressive)
    Chroma placement: MPEG-2
    No timecodes available
    supported.
  0 text tracks.

Loading the file into Cinelerra produces the following warning on the
console:

new_acodec: couldn't find codec for "sowt"

The video loads fine, just no audio.

From this it looks like the audio is encoded as PCM two's compliment
little endian.

Yes, sowt is identical to twos, only the endianess is swapped.

Any ideas on how I can load this into Cinelerra?

It's impossible as long as the codec is missing. Making a "sowt" codec
from the already existing "twos" codec would be trivial though.
