Yep. Mindshare is vital.
In theory the user interface could be written in Perl/Python/whatever.
Well, as Burkhard pointed out, video editors are in a different league.
Most people think of UIs as buttons, menus and input boxes. And that is
fine, for a Web page!
If a video editor app shall not be an absolute dog to use on an average
power computer, it has to be very optimised for responsiveness. Parts
of the user interface will have to do Serious Hard Work, really fast.
