hi, it`s me again.

when I asked WHERE CINELERRA IS GOING, I never expected such rich answers just like you people wrote, thanks for that. I have been cheating cinelerra :P hehehe with openME, and I love that little program, but cinelerra somehow still oriented to profesional users, so by the time being the TV weekly show I`m making, will keep inside the cinelerra editing pipe.

now, I see alot of people here (included mine), asking for profesional tools, but in cinelerra, is where no one know exactly what that means, perhaps is a place where the users have te best tool to do the rigth job, but who are those users? that anskwer is the problem in cinelerra, many people seems very happy with the scripting idea (wich is of course), and more core Features, but as a regular Editor, I won`t recomend cinelerra to any friend, not because is slow or something, actually ask a lot of the computer, but sometimes runs FASTER than premiere and seems more flexible in keyframing... but still we can`t move 2 or 3 clips together, if we don`t copy and paste silences, and WATCHOUT! the armed tracks must be correct, so if you plan to meve this 2 clips and that 2 clips, WAIT, ARM JUST THOSE TRACKS, copy and paste silences, STOP!, GO ARM THE OTHER TRACKs, and now you can copy and paste more silences... what??? you haven`t any silence? wooow go to the LAST PART OF THE PROYECT and copy a silence, the try to find that gap TO PASTE THAT SILENCE... after all this years, the timeline acts much more like bcast.

here, there are some feature request that I made to the openMediaEditor guy, perhaps cinelerra could use some of those.

3D transitions (just like softXplode, hollywood FX or BorisFX)

centered leadership is needed here? oh i tell youI still using the compiled-in-may cinelerra, none upgraded that version so maybe cinelerra is GREAT NOW, but HOW I`M SUPPOSED TO KNOW? i`m just a fedora user, most editors from the win world, don`t even know how to install a RPM binary file. just want to edit, not compile, view extrange files or stuff like that. UBUNTUSTUDIO, is great for audio, but which video editor has? cinelerra? the tool should be more inegrated to de environment.

just a fool`s opinion, don`t take it so seriously, just want to help you to get some ideas, as i`m no programmer, i can`t help you there :( but my experience as an editor tellsme certain truths, and my fellow editors here tells the same: "show how to do the same stuff i do in Premiere, FASTER, BETTER AND EASIER, and I could change to linux in a blink".

the thing is, to start just RPM binaries are aviable for the "NON-CARE TO COMPILE" USER, and the freshrpms version is too old, ubuntu seems better, but still old versions.

ok is old... so what? let`s begin, edius 4 is the LAST software to have sequences... cinelerra just kept behind. 64 bits in better! well cinelerra still at the same speed and 32 bit premiere still easier more powerfull,l and flexible, soon 64 bit aplications will be common.

who in th ubuntu studio HELPS the NLE developers to have some kind of standard or style, I mean, let`s work AVI, MOV, and DV, ok btu cinelerra FAILS MISERABLY to render avi files.so bye creo compatibility.
About the cross application stuff, load a SVG in cinelerra... CRASH!

Does cinelerra HV or CVD, or ABC or WHEREVER... is there any usable version for EDITORS, non-programers wich could WORK in ubuntu studio? oh! ubuntustudio is 32 BIT! so bye cinelerra, why? those people thougth that 32 bit is better for multimedia? let me know, I want to throw away my amd64, and go back to the Comodore-amiga :) where all this is going?

even youtube has a video REMIXER, and WORKS GREAT! how they do it?
just that simple thougths, and some suggestions.
Marquitux.
