The subject line is pretty explanatory. I used the checkinstall utility to make the package and install it on my xubuntu box. I'm happy to send it to people/potentially maintain a ppc package. I doubt I packaged it "properly" since I was only trying to get it to run on my machine, but if someone wants to tell me what to put in the various fields (dependencies, version number etc.) then I'm happy to do that. I'm also not getting a color problem others seem to have run into ( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=400919=) and while I haven't tested it extensively (partly because I'm still figuring out how things work), I have been able to at least play, in very slow motion, hdv content on a 1.5 ghz G4 with a gig of ram. I figure that's about as good performance you can expect in those circumstances.
Anyway, I hope this is helpful to somebody. -griff PS, As I check my url before sending, I notice the problem is with dv files, not mpeg. Since I've only captured hdv with the patched dvgrab I don't know if I've actually adequately tested this problem. I will report, but I don't think I've got the same performance issues mentioned in the bugreport.
