One thing to mention. Although naming repeaters and commonly used frequencies can be handy, I have found that most all hams memorize frequencies. So even though I made up a naming convention for my radios so I would quickly know which repeater I was tuned to, I think it's better to display frequencies instead of names.
For example: I named 147.015 in Nashville DANAV1. DA = Davidson County, NA = Nashville, V = VHF, 1 2 3 etc. etc. But everyone else refers to it as 015. And at first I never knew what they were talking about till I started memorizing the frequencies instead of my names. 73 DW Dennis M.
