# October meetup minutes After a long time we were back at IMSc venue Alladi Ramakrishna hall. Initially we were only for people at the venue. I had a fear of not getting an audience already. Meanwhile we introduced ourselves.
We waited till 3:15 PM after that hall got filled in 5 minutes. I was relieved and happy that people joined. ## First talk was by Shrayas He gave a concise talk which explained 1. Using llm locally instead of sending your data to the cloud. 2. He used `ollama` locally to classify spam mail. 3. He gave his gmail content as input to `ollama` to keep or delete mail. 4. By which he is able to delete all spam mails. ## Second talk is by Arthi She gave a talk on how she used neural networks and image processing to find lung cancer from CT images. 1. She explained about neural networks and how it is useful 2. She showed a demo to find lung cancer using a CT image. 3. She plotted charts for accuracy of each find. ## Discussion before Tea Mean while there was a question about how to train new images from the audience. An excellent discussion was triggered from where Arthi finished her talk. `Abinav Ravi` went deep on some of the use cases in the medical field and it is not accepted for production because regulators are asking for 99.9 % accuracy. ## Networking tea break We had a 30 mins break. Few people asked me for water. I really forgot the location. Then eventually some of them found out and told me that water is placed near the dead end of the corridor. Next time we will correct this. Ok Move on to the last talk ## First Lightning talk was by Abinav Ravi This talk he gave a good insight on Rev and UV and how it can be used to fasten the docker build. He showed the performances of the various tools. ## Second Lightning talk was by Rengaraj I want to give an intro to Python. There were two people who are new to python. I showed them a few examples like how python is really useful in getting started and a good first programming language. I also told them my story of getting into the programming world to give them some confidence to get started. # Closing notes by Rengaraj 1. Thanked everyone to coming forward to attend the meetup 2. Thanks to the speakers 3. Thanked IMSc and Prof. Amritanshu Prasad for the venue arrangements 4. Arthi suggested using Instagram, Shrayas also insisted on having Instagram. I agree it is good to have an Instagram account. The question is given the bandwidth of volunteers time is it really possible to engage people on multiple platforms. 5. There were few people suggesting to have a list of topics that can be discussed at chennaipy for upcoming meetups. 6. We asked them to send their topics they want hear to ` chennaipy@python.org`
