Free Software Foundation Tamil Nadu (FSFTN) is excited to announce Software Freedom Day on September 27, 2015. FSFTN is an organization dedicated to creating awareness on free (as in freedom) software that can be freely used, modified and shared in any context. We work with students and the general public by conducting workshops explaining the benefits of software and languages such as GNU/LINUX-based operating systems, Python, Ruby on Rails etc, This is the fourth year FSFTN is celebrating Software Freedom Day (SFD), a global effort to make people aware of the benefits of free software in education, business, government, home - in short, everywhere! These celebrations are organized around the world by volunteer teams like you and us. . On Software Freedom Day, around 30 stalls on various topics such as Free Software alternatives, Knowledge Freedom, Internet Security, Open Hardware, etc. will be hosted. We are planning to reach students from across the city, IT professionals, academics and the general public in the course of this event. For python Stalls we would like to have members from chennai python community since chennaipy is very active for the past years by conducting workshops and hands-on session in python language. We are glad to have Chennaipy group to take basic session on python and its scope in our SFD celebration. Kindly respond to our mail as soon as possible..
