I just feel like pointing out that you can already do that:
$ clang-tidy -checks=clang-analyzer-alpha* -p <....>
(be wary of `*` expanding)
`clang-tidy --help` says:
-checks=<string> -
<...> This option's value is appended to the
value of the 'Checks' option in .clang-tidy
file, if any.
