I don't like this. LLVM is used as a library for wide set of tools and compiled 
with an even wider set of compilers.
I know that LLVM advertises a couple of compilers that are supported as host 
toolchains, but I'd say that's likely not a complete set.

As a user, I wouldn't mind a solution like this, but as a library vendor, I'd 
vote very much against this.
There must be some other way. I'll try to squeeze some free time exploring this 
to help you.
