puremourning added a comment. I can confirm that this patch fixes a number test cases found in ycmd <http://github.com/Valorric/ycmd> (a code-completion server). Specifically these ones marked as 'sic' <https://github.com/Valloric/ycmd/blob/master/ycmd/tests/subcommands_test.py#L302-L312>
