Doesn't that waste disk space? I specifically try to avoid it because of the "clean your home drive" messages sent out on occasion. It is also why I request a compiler be installed for everyone to use. A common build in a known location (like /opt/cfarm) makes GCC more available than a lone user's build. It seems like the common build and installation is a better way to promote testing of GCC.
