On the client side, the SMB3 added an SMB-Direct protocol extension for
RDMA. Quite a bit of work needs to be done to get this supported in
Samba: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba3/SMB2#SMB_Direct

Also on the client side, LIO offers support for iSCSI Extensions for
RDMA transport, which should be usable alongside a tcmu-runner
backstore: http://linux-iscsi.org/wiki/ISCSI_Extensions_for_RDMA
I'm not aware of any testing of this combination though.
