It was a rather serious bug, but there is small a patch at kernel.org https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107301 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=192351 We also have this problem on both 3.16 (Jessie) and 4.2 (Sid) Debian kernels, but, after applying this patch, the problem is gone. There was no hangs/lockups during last week. Patch is for 3.18 kernel (I think), but it is easy to manually port it to 4.2 - ext4 code do not change too much.
