Hi all,

I'm looking into ceph for a new project and wanted to see if a user running
standard Ubuntu would be able to install, configure and get ceph running
out of the box. The configuration for running ceph in these examples is
very minimal, so I'm expecting it could receive some criticism, which is
good.

Here's a blog post I made about my experiences on doing this on Ubuntu:

My intention eventually is to have a ceph cluster running in the back
storing media files (photos, video, etc), with a radosgw providing access
to the content and a server farm managing new uploads and other types of
processing. Next step for radosgw is therefore client authentication and
authorization, but I need to read up on how that works.

So hopefully these posts help someone and it allows the developers and doc
writers to spot where new users are having difficulties.

Rgds,

Gerard
