Definitely too much.
We've seen this behavior before and there is a ticket currently open for
it (see http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/8036), as this increasing memory
consumption will eventually trigger an OOM on machines with low amounts
of RAM. However I haven't been able to reproduce it once to actually
investigate what the problem might be.
Do you have any idea how you got here?
Also, could you please run
'ceph heap stats -m IP:PORT', with IP and PORT of that monitor, and send
us back the result?
