You mean the "[osd]" and "[osd.x]" information are not necessary anymore? What if all the ceph nodes plus monitor nodes are down, after I reboot all the nodes, will ceph cluster be back to the normal status? And where the ceph cluster read the configuration info in ceph.conf before?

The important information are the monitors' addresses and network addresses of public and cluster networks. Plus the cluster fsid.
