The SuperMicro 2U 12+2-bay chassis would be near perfect if it also had
a pair of mSATA headers inside. A couple of 30- or 60GB SSDs could be
dropped in for almost nothing at all.
Yeah, and I forgot to say (tho I think others have mentioned this),
keeping the firmware updated seems to be a good way to avoid the
(obvious anyway) manifestations of this phenomena - I use 2 crucial M4's
in my current home workstation - I keep the firmware current and have
avoided a couple of data destroying bugs as a result - also performance
has changed from merely ok initially to very good indeed!
