It's the default tool for getting something up and running quickly for tests/PoC. If you don't want to make too many custom settings changes, are happy with SSH access to all boxes, then it's fine but if you want more granular control then we advise you use something like Chef or Puppet. There are example Chef configs in the Github repo.
