You can view the code by cloning the git repository.

The first lines are what you need to connect.

cluster = rados.Rados(conffile='my_ceph.conf')
cluster.connect()
ioctx = cluster.open_ioctx('mypool')

Also, you will need to modify your ceph.conf file to include a
keyring. Put it under global.

[global]
...
keyring=path/to/keyring/ceph.client.admin.keyring

The rest of the process is similar to the C API.
