Hello everyone,

The fix for rgw bug #71083[1] was backported to the Squid branch back in July[2], almost immediately after the 19.2.3 release, and the backport was merged in September[3]. However, Squid hasn't had a point release since.[4]

If I understand correctly, this is a bug that can potentially cause data loss: if

- an S3 bucket at some point had a lifecycle policy automating deletion of expired objects, and - that lifecycle policy was then deleted (which due to the bug in question would be ignored),

… then rgw would keep deleting data that's past its previously defined expiry date, and users would probably not find out until it's too late. Is that a correct reading of the problem?

If so, can I ask someone in the know to please provide a rough indication as to when 19.2.4 might land, with the bug being resolved?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Florian
