Have you actually installed the plugin in Firefox though? # cd /usr/lib/firefox-1.5.0.12/plugins # ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0.3/jre/plugins/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so . Your path to libjavaplugin_oji.so will be different most likely.
