Depending on how you installed the driver, it may need to be recompiled for the new kernel. If you installed it directly from nvidia, you would need to boot to runlevel 3 and rerun the NVIDIA*.run script to build against the new kernel. If you are using the one from elrepo, not sure if they have a new one yet.
