So, it seems that it's not possible to install Centos 5.x on my i586 CPU right?. I've seen somewhere that there is an vmlzi586 boot option in Centos 4.6.... ¿Do you think that this version could work for me?

Yes ... centos-4.x works fine on i586 and will for its lifetime.
