Ah. Thanks for forcing me to look better. I didn't notice that the $CC was supposed to be the half-built compiler.
The error that occurs is probably due to the "winsup" part of the path in some of the lines which should have been replaced by something else. The place where I addressed this is in gcc/config/i386/t-wince : SHLIB_LC = -lmingw32 -lmingwex -lceoldname -lcoredll LIBGCC2_INCLUDES += \ -I$(srcdir)/../../mingw/include \ -I$(srcdir)/../../w32api/include CRTSTUFF_CFLAGS += \ -I$(srcdir)/../../mingw/include \ -I$(srcdir)/../../w32api/include which should get included by this line in gcc/config.gcc : tmake_file="${tmake_file} i386/t-wince" I seem to miss why this works when running on Linux but not on Cygwin.
