I don't think I can use gdb on my hardware, unless someone has a magic trick to 
 show me.  I'm working with a GPS unit running wince 5.0 core.  There is no 
ethernet on the hardware, and I haven't figured out how to get activesync 
working.  The only thing I've got is the ability to copy files to the device 
via SDcard or USB mass storage.  So I'm in an endless compile-download-fail 
cycle.  Hence my desire to eliminate possible failure modes.
