It's independant. The work to do this is really pretty much mechanic, and can be done in one go, no need to do it stepwise. Its just a matter of going throught the various config* files and replacing -wince- with -*-. Like this for example: http://sourceware.org/ml/binutils/2007-12/msg00051.html Incidently I've just downloaded a clean svn checkout overnight on my kubuntu, and it's waiting for me to build it.
