I have noticed a small problem with window title bars when using fr_FR.UTF-8 as the locale.

As you can see in the attached pictures, while accented letters are displayed correctly in the

menu bar, in the main panel, in the status line, in the path line and in the graphical representation

of the directories, the e with acute accent of "Vidéos" is missing in the title bar.

This is also happening when the window is iconified.

The output from xwininfo is xwininfo: Window id: 0x2000049 "Gestionnaire de fichiers - Vidos"

The problem is not limited to dtfile, it also seen with Thunderbird.

However, in that case xwininfo gives: "Rédaction : Window titles with UTF-8 locales - Thunderbird"
as name of the window.

I suspect that dtwm could be stripping  the UTF-8 encoded characters from window titles or from title bars.

That being said, when using xpdf to display a PDF file with accented letters in the file name accents are shown correctly in the title bar.  So the problem could be more subtle. Maybe xpdf converts accents to ISO-8859-1 representation when setting the title, and dtwm does not strip accented letters in that case.

I think this is a minor issue for West European languages since a few missing letters in window title are not likely to create confusion. But with cyrillic or Kanji characters for instance this could be more problematic.
