I compiled the latest CDE version (with latest motif) on LTSP5, Ubuntu 10.4. dthello does not hang anymore (as written in http://sourceforge.net/p/cdesktopenv/wiki/SupportedPlatforms/) The desktop starts but after a while it freezes. It freezes immediately if you attempt to click on a menu or drawer. However, until it freezes there is time to launch a dtterm and if you do that the shell keeps working even after the freeze. It seems that the desktop waits for something to launch because until the desktop freezes the cursor appears as busy. I checked the errorlog and startlog. I see only font errors but the desktop has text in its' widgets so the fallback mechanism works. That can not be the reason to freeze. In any case, dthello does not hang anymore as written in the wiki. Antonis. |
