Dear Colleagues,

We are currently seeking two Postdoctoral Research Associates to join my lab in
the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford:

Our small research team uses structural methods, biophysics, and cell biology
to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying viral evolution and host
adaptation. The first project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and focuses on
understanding how some viruses change their receptor specificity from glycan-
to protein-binding, and how receptor selection may influence the mechanism of
viral entry. Answering these questions will help us better understand past
pandemics and prepare more effectively for those in the future.

The second project is a close collaboration with the Suskiewicz group at the
Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire in Orléans, France, and will involve an
extended scientific visit to their lab. This project is funded by the HFSP and
focuses on understanding the functional importance and prevalence of
filamentation among transcription factors at the structural level. The project
has the potential to uncover new mechanisms governing the fundamental
biological process of gene expression.

Full details about the posts, responsibilities, and selection criteria are
available through the links above. The deadline for applications is 22
September 2025. Further information about the lab can be found
here:https://www.bioch.ox.ac.uk/research/wrobel and
https://wrobel-lab.org<https://wrobel-lab.org/> . Oxford is a fantastic place
to work, and our department benefits from a vibrant research community and
outstanding facilities, including a Titan Krios with K3 and two Talos
microscopes in-house, and convenient access to the nearby Diamond Synchrotron.
We work closely with excellent groups within Oxford, across Europe, and in the
US, so new lab members can expect strong opportunities to grow and collaborate.

I will be grateful for sharing and please feel free to get in touch with
informal enquiries.

With best wishes,

Antoni
